MICHAEL GLAVAN
actor. singer. director.
ABOUT ME
Michael grew up a particularly lanky and wistful child, jammin' to Pippin and his mother's early Josh Groban albums in the minivan on the way to basketball practice. He developed a steady habit of nail-biting, over-apologizing, and colloquial use of words such as "ope" and "pop". Ultimately he had great aspirations to be on either Boy Meets World or All That, and while either has yet to come true, Michael pursued theatre/improv summer camps for the rest of his upbringing.
Michael went on to pursue a study of theatre in college. He left the midwest with a great education, experiences, and a super expensive piece of paper that admitted he did indeed graduate with a BFA from Kent State University. During those college years he was able to work alongside Hal Linden under the direction of Tim Jerome and Marc Moritz in a workshop performance of the feel-good musical comedy Shine! The Horatio Alger Musical. He was aslo able to work one on one in classroom studios with Alice Ripley and Ben Vereen. Perhaps most profound was the opportunity to perform in a production of Spring Awakening under the direction of Michael Rupert.
While in college, Michael developed a strong passion to direct after co-devising a production of [title of show] and then going on to solo direct a production of Godspell. These passions and aspirations have followed him to NYC as well. Since the permanent pilgrimage to the big apple, Michael has been making art as an actor and director regionally and in NYC.
